Happy Studying! @Everyone
The Bible is the GREATEST, MOST INTERESTING, AND RELATABLE BOOK WE WILL EVER READ!
As I gleaned from Chapter 42, during this read verse 28 stood out to me.
At this point, Joseph had sent his brothers back to fetch Benjamin whom he loved and they noticed that their money had been returned to the mouths of their sacks. Now we know they are facing reprimand as Joseph is treating them as strangers so I can imagine the anguish they felt seeing the money not where they’d left it.
But collectively they asked, “What is this that God has done to us”! WHEW— have you ever had one of these moments!!??
Firstly, they were reflecting on their own transgressions and iniquities that they’d preferred to have not followed them this far in life yet they all assumed that surely because of our sinful and ungodly dealings with the brother that they declare is no more this was surely the work of God!
The question arises how much do we think “is God’s doing” rather is “God’s allowing”? The scripture never said that Joseph consulted God in his treatment of His brothers, yet their immediate response was what is this that God has done…
Our actions will either in response be “God did” or “God allowed”!
May be esteem to discern the difference…
