Happy Studying! @Everyone
In 2 John, verse 5 really jumped off the page for me. This is something that is supposed to distinguish us from the world! Not a new commandment but one that has been given to us from the beginning, LOVE. How do we as a people resemble our Creator who is love without exemplifying His DNA? Of course, many of us have a skewed perception of love that we learned along the way in life however if we truly master God’s agape love (given without condition or bias) the world as we know it would have no choice but to be transformed!
In 3 John, the verse that resonated so greatly for me was verse 11. Unconsciously, many imitate what is evil. The thing is, attempting to define evil by worldly standards with always have us at enmity with God! In the AMP verse of scripture it says “do not imitate evil” and “the one who practices good” the two words imitate and practice are key in this verse. Good has to be practiced while evil can be imitated! How easy it is to imitate the evils of this world, it’s all around us! But the instruction to practice good, exhibiting godly character, moral courage, and personal integrity further identifies that we must apply repeatedly God’s nature!
