Devotion | Matthew 15:13 NASB1995
”He answered, “Every plant which My heavenly Father did not plant will be torn up by the roots.“
Notice here that Jesus did not say as He was speaking that every “seed” would be torn up by the roots but rather every plant, this indicates that what was once a seed has now produced growth or a response making it notably a plant.
In scripture we see another familiar verse that tells us that the wheat and the weeds will grow together for a time not to be pluck up prematurely.
Here we have the reassurance much the same as the previous scripture reference denoting that what was not of God and Truth cannot and will not be everlasting but rather has an inevitable end, to be plucked up by their roots.
If you know anything about gardening or planting then you know that when you desire to be rid of something that has the responsibility to grow, you MUST uproot or pluck it up by its roots to prevent a new growth cycle from starting.
As we weaponize the word, this verse of scripture should be a daily prayer, petitioning God to do exactly what He has promised which is to pluck of what He did not plant.
For many of us not only did God not plant it, but in many cases neither did we! Asking our Omnipotent King to pluck up by the roots anything “planted” in your bloodline generationally.
As we grow in our relationship with God, if we’re really yielding to Holy Spirit, you ONLY desire what God has for you so implementing this verse of scripture should kindle within you an urgency for the uprooting of all things planted that hasn’t been planted by your Father in Heaven.
I challenge you this week to spend some time incorporating this verse of scripture in your daily prayer time, even meditate upon its context throughout your day.
Remember, I love you, but God loves YOU MORE! 🫶🏾
