Devotion | Nahum 1:9 NKJV
“What do you conspire against the Lord? He will make an utter end of it. Affliction will not rise up a second time.”
This week’s memory verse is a supreme truth outlining Jehovah Gibor’s ability, capacity and promise to PROTECT and DEFEND His people.
In this dying world to which we live we can so easily find ourselves accepting what seems like the enemy overpowering God’s chosen people yet Nahum 1:9 reassures us that there is an appointed time of sovereign judgment for the wicked.
Those who plot ungodliness towards God’s people are workers of iniquity acting out Satan’s plan to hurt God by launching diabolical attacks against His chosen.
One of the hardest realities we face is this…
THERE WILL ALWAYS BE CASUALTIES!
If we travel scripture into the mind of God, this verse unfolds El Roi’s all-seeing and all-knowing facets.
Psalm 140:2 says
“They devise evil things in their hearts; They continually [gather together and] stir up wars.”
Why is this important? I’ll tell you, NOTHING done by those who have willing made themselves enemies of God goes UNNOTICED!
Here is a FACT never to be forgotten…
Proverbs 21:30 AMP
“There is no [human] wisdom or understanding Or counsel [that can prevail] against the Lord.”
The latter of Nahum 1:9 speaks of the very truth to which we wait—
“Then it will happen on that day that the Lord Will again acquire with His hand a second time The remnant of His people. Isaiah 11:11 AMP
We can weaponize this week’s memory verse in face of ALL things. Herein the inerrant and infallible Word of God there is a forth-telling of what’s to come for the remnant of God which is He will come a second time and gather us from the hand of those who oppressed us.
Whatever may be oppressing you, whatever mountain in your life that has attempted to rise itself against the God of Abraham, Jacob, and Isaac be sure to bear in mind that there is an appointed end never rise again against you!
